Explorers

‘With a finger on his lips, the sentinel figure of frost and cold
Imposes silence.’

This window , created in the year of their death in Antarctica, commemorates five polar explorers. Cherry-Garrard called their journey the worst journey in the world

Something to do:
Walk around the cathedral and think about some of your worst and best journeys.
Remember someone who is on a difficult journey today.

A journey prayer:
Bless us God
with saints to tell us stories,
with angels to surprise us,
with friends along the way.

Bless us God,
with strength and joy and courage,
all the length and breadth
of our nights and days.
