Take a Minute

Take a minute, keep your eyes open. Take a Minute cards appear around the cathedral.

Why?

To help visitors use the cathedral and its grounds as sacred space, as a place to think about God, about people and issues that concern them, as a place to sit still, or walk about, or ponder, or pray.

Who are they for?

Anyone who is visiting the cathedral and its grounds – old and young, tourist, pilgrim, questioner, worshipper.

What are they like?

They are small cards that contain photographic images from the cathedral and its grounds, and quotes, prayers, and suggestions for action. Some of them will have QR codes.

What’s a QR code?

A QR code can be scanned on a smartphone to give links into websites (click here for information on options for scanners for various makes of smartphones). You could stand in front of the choir windows and watch images of Scott’s Antarctic journey and listen to music from Sinfonia Antarctica by Vaughan Williams on your phone. And if you’ve not got the right kind of phone you can access all these links when you go home or elsewhere with internet access to the Cathedral's website.

Where will these cards be?

They will be located near to the focus of each card. These will vary from time to time.

Take a minute in the cathedral……

Walk about, sit still, ask questions, pray and ponder. Enjoy.
